Reflection: Seventh Grade

When I first arrived in August, I expected the teachers to be really strict and be up all night doing homework. I soon realized that the teachers were quite nice and we only got about half an hour of homework. By October, school started to become fun and enjoyable. Eventually, I figured out that the teachers actually care about you.
In seventh grade, I learned that if you procrastinate your homework than you will have a harder time getting the work done and might not get it turned in on time. I also learned, that if you push yourself and set goals for yourself than you will literally astound yourself about the things that you can accomplish. Lastly, I learned that the teachers care about you a whole lot more than it might seem.
As the year comes to a close, I look foreword to eighth grade, but I’m going to miss the teachers. If I had a do-over than I would have stayed in advanced math, so I could do IPC Science next year. My advice for next years seventh graders is, never give, it might seem hard at first, but it soon gets better.

Leadership Outside of School

Leadership is one of the most important roles on a football team. To be a leader you have to always push yourself, encourage others, and most of all make the right choices.
To be a leader on the football team you always have to push yourself even if your the only one working hard. In order for others to get better you have to be the one showing them that if they push themselves than they can get better and win.
Also, you have to encourage your teammates. If they’re down because they missed a ball, then you have to lift up their spirit. You don’t want them getting down on themselves because they missed one ball, otherwise they’ll just missing.
Lastly, you have to make the right choices on and off the field. If your the leader and you make a bad decision like doing drugs, then your teammates might think that doing drugs fine and they’ll do it to and then you’ll get arrested and have to go to jail. If you make the right decisions then others will do good things and so your team would have a better chance of winning.
To be a good leader you have to push yourself, encourage others, and most importantly make the right choices.

My Favorite Poem

Psalm 23
1 The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want.
2 He makes me lie down in green pastures,
he leads me beside quiet waters,
3 he refreshes my soul.
He guides me along the right paths
for his name’s sake.
4 Even though I walk
through the darkest valley,[a]
I will fear no evil,
for you are with me;
your rod and your staff,
they comfort me.
5 You prepare a table before me
in the presence of my enemies.
You anoint my head with oil;
my cup overflows.
6 Surely your goodness and love will follow me
all the days of my life,
and I will dwell in the house of The Lord forever

I love this poem because it reminds me that I should not fear evil for The Lord is always with me.

My Favorite Board Game

“It finally came!”, I screamed as I held up the greatest, funnest, and most exciting game of sweet revenge. Sorry. To me Sorry is the best game in the world, and it still is.
I can still remember the many nights I would stay up playing Sorry. I would practice plays that I devised myself, so that I could demolish whoever wanted to play me, especially my brothers and parents.
Whenever I play Sorry I feel as happy as the happy song. Whenever I play I know I’m going to beet whoever my opponent is, and if I don’t well I feel bad for that person. I take Sorry so seriously that whenever I lose I overreact and throw the cards all over the room and stomp off angrily.
I still play Sorry to this day, but with a little less of a must win attitude. Unfortunately though, with my rough loosing back round, not that many people want to play with me. Well you know what they say, ” You win some, you loose some.”

Austin

Austin is such a great place to live. There are great indoor and outdoor places to enjoy all around the city.
Austin has great indoor facilities to visit. Though there are many enjoyable indoor places, my favorite would have to be Lifetime gym.
At the gym I can: play basketball, workout, rock climb, hit racquetball, or chill in the pool. I love the gym especially when the outdoor weather just isn’t cooperating.
Also, Austin’s great location provides fantastic outdoor activities. The Austin lake is by far the best outdoor place. At the lake you can go fishing, wake boarding, tubing, water skiing, swimming, and you can also hang out in the boat. At the end of the day when your tired and worn out from a day out on the lake. you can go to Hula Hut. Hula Hut has some of the best Mexican food ever plus while you eat you can also enjoy the beautiful sunset on the lake.
Austin is such a great place to live. I hope that I stay here my whole life.

Braces

Braces are a pain the butt. Some people think braces are cool, but that’s before there in your mouth.
The day I got my braces on l thought I would go in, then come out with shiny braces on. That wasn’t the case though. I got to the dentist office and checked in. The nurse called my name and told me to come on back, ” Better take a picture of my teeth because I won’t be seeing them for a while.” I told myself. When I got to the back of the dentistry and sat down in that grey, comfy, reclining chair, the doctor came in and started talking in some weird dentistry language.
When I could finally understand them they had rolls of cotton in my mouth. When getting braces they make your mouth as dry as the Savannah Desert. Then they take these weird tools and stick on the brakets. It takes them one hour to do that while your just sitting helplessly with your mouth wide open.

Chocolate is Fantastic

Mmmm! Yummy in my tummy tum tum. Chocolate is one of the best foods ever!
Chocolate is a fantastic food to whatever mood your in, it goes for all occasions. Whenever I come home from a long day at school with all sorts of homework, I sit, relax, and enjoy a nice creamy chocolate bar. It melts in my mouth and instantly soothes my soul. Chocolate has come to my aid in many hard and depressing times.
In addition to chocolates emotional power, chocolate is delicious. Chocolate is made in many flavors to accommodate different personalities. It’s many creamy flavors and luscious texture makes chocolate the perfect snack that is delicious and great to eat with other foods. Once I went to a party that had a wide variety of chocolate decor- heaven on earth. Chocolate has made the world a better place.
In life you have to have something your stomach desires, and something you can turn to in times of trouble. Chocolate is one of the best things that has ever happened to mankind, it’s just plain FANTASTIC.

The UPS Truck

I heard the sound of rubber tires screech upon the loose gravel. I slowly tiptoed towards the window to take a peak but my hand took control over my mind. Frantically my hand flinched backwards and I took a second thought. Prepared I opened the curtain- scared- but only to see a UPS logo.

Track

I feel the butterflies flying in my stomach as the finish line came into sight. My muscles start to ache more and more as I inch my way closer. My heart pounds so hard I can feel it through my feet. I turned my head to see a massive crowd- all screaming my name. I turned my head to see that the finish line was only two steps away. I crossed the the finish line- I won.

Winter

Although winter can be very cold you can still have just as much fun. You can have just as much fun. In the winter you can go skiing. You can experience the wind in your face and have real snow. You can enjoy hot chocolate when it is actually cold outside. While outside you might as well start making a snow man. All in all winter is a blast and even though it might be cold you can still have fun.

Zach’s Birthday

On my brothers birthday we usually do something fun. This year we went to TopGolf with some of his friends. I didn’t get to hit much because there were about five older boys who hogged the hitting tee. So my mom had to be the enforcer when it came to my turn. Although I didn’t hit very much, I got to play in the game room with my dad.
